Ballarat Tips & Previews, Tuesday 12th July

Eight races at Ballarat for the Punter’s Prince to get a hold of.

Our man is confident he has found all the horses to be in order to ensure a profitable start to the week on the punt.

An early bet in the first gets the day underway.

ballarat race 1

#7 our nicconi

Our Nicconi was tipped out for a spell after her first start last preparation when running fitth over 1000 metres on the Pakenham turf.

She has since been given time to furnish into a proper race horse and her jump outs suggest she is ticking along nicely ahead of her return to racing.

Maps to lead up this field and will be looking to boot off the bend in order to pinch a winning break.

Suggested Bet: Our Nicconi each-way at $5 the win and $2 the place.

Confidence Rating: 5/10

ballarat race 2

#2 delivery man

Delivery Man has been a shocker for the punters having yet to register a win in 18 starts, but today looks the perfect set up for him.

The 1200 metres back to a 1000 metres looks a good race shape for him given the hot early speed predicted in this race.

Michael Walker can settle him off the speed and come at them with one run.

Suggested Bet: Delivery Man win at $3.20

Confidence Rating: 5/10

ballarat race 4

#3 hallowed ground

Hallowed Ground should be able to dictate the tempo of this race out in the lead from barrier one.

He was run down by a gun synthetic tracker last start and that form should hold up in this race.

Rock-hard fit and holding his form well.

Suggested Bet: Hallowed Ground win at $1.90

Confidence Rating: 8.5/10

ballarat race 5

#4 knight bachelor

Knight Bachelor appears back at the races after not much went right for him on debut.

He went to a 1400-metre maiden at Bendigo on June 30 on a heavy eight track and just conceded far too much ground to ever be considered a winning hope.

Blinkers go on for the first time and has scope to be a big improver back onto the all-weather surface.

Suggested Bet: Knight Bachelor win at $3.80

Confidence Rating: 7.5/10

ballarat race 8

#7 just wishing

Have to love the booking of Jarrod Fry for this horse.

Fry is a jet front-running rider who will allow this horse to roll out in the lead and will hopefully get this field chasing from a long way out.

Needs to use this gelding’s fitness base to his advantage here in order to gain the competitive edge in this race.

Suggested Bet: Just Wishing win at $3.80

Confidence Rating: 8.5/10
